Three things are necessary for a healthy church: encouragement, endurance, and worship. This is equally true for Christians, who will never mature spiritually if they don’t know how to grow up in Christ. Vibrant churches are made up of Christians who continually seek to learn new biblical truths and put them into practice. Such knowledge gives our faith stability and substance. Growing Christians constantly pursue an ever-increasing knowledge of the Bible and an ever-enlarging knowledge of the Lord Himself. As we will see in this lesson, effective Scripture study includes an in-depth awareness of the objective doctrines of the faith as well as the practice of putting newfound knowledge into action.
